Moy Materials were asked by our valued client, a private practice Surveying firm based on Scotland’s East Coast, to carry out a comprehensive condition survey of an aged, leaking PVC single ply roof over this building adjacent to Aberdeen’s busy Union Street. Various tears and punctures through the membrane had led to wide-spread instances of water ingress and necessitated a total roof refurbishment.
The presence of slates and live gas pipes required us to build a specification in keeping with the NFRC’s Safe2Torch guidelines, isolating sensitive areas with cold-applied alternatives to our otherwise torch-applied warm roof system. Access arrangements were also difficult meaning a clever delivery and unloading structure was required.
Our technical team worked closely with our approved Roofing Contractor to iron out the complex specification, which included an array of product solutions to secure long-term protection over the client’s building, backed by a long-term single point guarantee.
FM Global approved and BBA certified, our Paralon Total Warm Roof System is suitable for both new build and refurbishment applications. The range of Paralon solutions are also suitable for cold roofs, inverted roofs and a range of other uses including podium decks, car parks and balconies.
A range of surface finishes, including a maintenance free granular surface and an anti-root option, make this system ideal for withstanding foot traffic associated with maintenance.
