MOY Hot Melt system called Paro-melt is a robust, watertight, approved, warranted system with a long term lifecycle of up to 30 years.
We, at MOY, were delighted to have been asked to specify and support the installation programme for the £253m redevelop a Justice & Reform centre. An exciting project to be involved with we worked closely with Kier Construction Company and the Ministry of Justice throughout the construction. A key element of our services is to provide management, site reviews and project oversee throughout the building phase, completion and beyond.
The project is anticipated to provide more than 850 jobs for local residents and deliver an anticipated £80m boost to the economy. The prison is part of the Government’s Prison Estate Transformation Programme, which is reforming the country’s prison estate to ensure conditions are suitable for rehabilitation of offenders and to reduce crowding.
We specified a fit for purpose waterproofing solution for the development namely our new 2nd generation Hot Melt system – Paro-Melt®, which was advantageous for its system benefits but also cost/labour reductions and speed of installation. The polymer modified bitumen compound used with a robust SBS protection membrane gives a tough monolithic but flexible roof system.
Full immersion of our MOY distinctive blue reinforcement mesh ensures enough compound is being installed. Designed primarily for use over concrete in inverted roof applications such as podium decks, green roofs, car parks, terraces and balconies. The full Paro-Melt® system includes a wide range of inverted thermal insulations, water reduction layers and other accessories.
The robust specification gave the client peace of mind as a MOY single point, materials & workmanship guarantee of 30 years was provided.
